GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE

The planning, implementation and administration of services, programmes and actions of European Development, Social Care, Prevention, Health Promotion and rehabilitation of people and groups of the city of Rhodes, so as to ensure the conditions of their equal participation in the social and financial life of Rhodes. More specifically the Company promotes:

• The planning of interfering into issues of quality of the citizens' lives.
• The development of voluntarism and sensitization of the citizens.
• The promotion of cooperation and participation of all citizens and all social, scientific and professional organizations of the city, as well as other organizations of local authorities for the planning and implementation of programmes of Social Care.
• The creation of a data and documentation base.
• The improvement of the existing structures that already provide services of Social Care and Development as well as Health Promotion, in the frame of the social policy of the Municipality of Rhodes.
• The support and development of the manpower as well as the sufficient hiring of specialized scientific personnel for the new activities, in order to upgrade the provided services and promote the scientific research.

In order to achieve its goals the company can undertake the implementation of European Programmes and Initiatives, cooperate and participate on a local, national or international level in proposals for its financial or other support of its projects, aiming at dealing with and solving the causes of social elimination and generally the social development of the citizens.

The Company is administered by a seven-member Board.
