	13/07/2009 - 13/07/2009 “Together we made it happen !!” : Åland, NatWest Island Games “The past week gave us one of the most memorable and exciting events that has happened on Åland in a very long time. Since the first teams stepped on our soil until the last ones boarded the ferry early this morning (08/07), there has been an explosion of smiles and laughter throughout the island.
	29/05/2009 - 29/05/2009 The maskot for IBSA Open European Championships in Athletics revieled The IBSA Open European Championships in Athletics adopted as its maskot, Champy the donkey. The donkey as an animal is strictly connected to the history and customs of Rhodes. His name refers to "Champion", as well as an abbreviated version of "Tsambikos", a popular name in Rhodes.
	29/05/2009 - 29/05/2009 IRIS 2009 Opening Ceremony to be held on June 7th The IBSA Open European Championships in Athletics "Iris 2009", which takes place in Rhodes, June 4-14th, will have its opening ceremony on Sunday, June 7th, at 20:00, at the Medieval Moat Theatre «Melina Merkouri».
	15/02/2009 - 15/02/2009 IBSA Open European Championships in Athletics Eighteen states have already registered to Rhodes 2009 IBSA Open European Championships in Athletics, to be held next June in Rhodes. Delegations from Cyprus, Slovakia, Serbia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldavia, Lithuania, Sweden, Chinese Taipei, Switzerland, England, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Japan and Greece will meet in Rhodes, while more countries are expected as the deadline was due today, and more delegation are to be confirmed.
	09/02/2009 - 09/02/2009 Rhodes 2009 open street Run The Municipal Organization for Youth and Sports of the Municipality of Rhodes in cooperation with National Sports Association SEGAS Dodekanisou, will host a People's Run in open street, titled Rhodes 2009, this Sunday, February 15th 2009.

	06/12/2008 - 06/12/2008 Rhodes to host European Blind Athletic Championship The Sports Union for people with disabilities «Dodecanisos» was granted by International Blind Sports Association to host the European Blind Athletic Championship. In cooperation with the Hellenic Federation of Sports of people with disabilities and with support of the local authorities and the contribution of Paralympic Medalist Thanassis Mparakas, the European Championship will take place in Rhodes on June 2009, with the participation of over 500 athletes.

	01/11/2008 - 01/11/2008 Rhodes candidate for the European Blind Athletics Championship The Sports Union for people with disabilities «Dodecanisos» filed to International Blind Sports Association its candidacy for Rhodes to host the European Blind Athletic Championship. In cooperation of the Hellenic Federation of Sports of people with disabilities and with support of the local authorities, the candidacy is strengthened by the experience gained from organizing Rhodes Island Games 2007, as long as by the contribution of Paralympic Medalist Thanassis Mparakas.
	01/11/2008 - 01/11/2008 Rhodes going to Åland, Finland for Island Games 2009 The preparations for our teams on all sports has began as the rhodian delegation gets prepared for its participation to the 13th Islang Games to be held in Åland, Finland, from June 27 to July 04 2009.
